MS Dhoni survives scare after the hotel he along with his team was staying caught fire

Former Indian Captain and Skipper of Jharkhand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had on Friday survived a scare on Friday morning as the hotel which he was staying along with his Jharkand teammates caught fire.

All the players were rescued safely after the Welcome Hotel in Dwarka caught fire. To make matters worse the fire alarm in the hotel didn't go off.

MS Dhoni and his Jharkhand teammates were in town to take part in the semi-final of the Vijay Hazare trophy. The semi-final between Jharkhand and Bengal has now been postponed and will be played on Saturday instead.

We were asked to evacuate the hotel and were told that a fire has broken out. When we went out of the hotel we saw a lot of smoke coming out, although the fire had been put out by then and was at no point out of control.

The left-arm spinner further informed that the fire was caused due to a short-circuit in the basement of the hotel, which had a lot of commercial shops.

According to senior official from Delhi Fire Services, thirty fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused by 9.45 AM. Cooling operations are on,"

Police said that the fire broke out in a Reliance showroom. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
