Marathi gets top honours in 64th National Film Awards, ‘Kaasav’ best film and Best actress Mollywood star Surabhi 

The 64th National Film Award that looks into the making of artistic, competent and meaningful films, presents the medallion for the best actor to Akshay Kumar for his performance in Rustom while the best actress award goes to Mollywood star Surabhi for her acting skills in for Malayalam film Minnaminungu while the best movie award goes to Marathi flick Kaasav announced by the jury chairperson Priyadarshan.

Mollywood super star Mohanlal gets special jury mention for his (Munthiri Vallikal Thalirkkumbol, Pulimurugan and Janata Garage) along with Neerja’s lead actor Sonam Kapoor with Adil Hussain for Mukti Bhawan and Kadvi Hawa, Mukti Bhavan. Best Kannada film was won by Reservation while Best Marathi Film award went to Dashakriya. Best Gujarati Film goes to Wrong Side Raju and Best Tamil Film goes to Joker by Raju Murugan.
