American actress Lindsay Lohan has openly talked about her interest in Islam and her fear to return to US following the love she has for the religion.
The 30-year-old has returned to New York and opened up about the recent speculation that she would be converting to Islam.
“I’ve studied the Quran for quite some time. It’s a process to convert to anything. I respect all religions... It’s a beautiful religion and I am a very spiritual person. It’s something I’ve been studying,” Lohan told dailymail.co.uk.
“You can’t just convert overnight to a religion,” she added.
However, after US President Donald Trump banned people from predominantly Muslim countries from entering the US, Lohan, who has been spending time in Greece and Turkey, revealed that she was in doubt about returning.
“I was scared to come here with everything going on because of my personal beliefs,” she said.
In January, Lindsay Lohan wiped clean two of her social media accounts and started afresh. In her latest post on Instagram, Lohan posted a picture of her appearance on a popular Kuwaiti talk show, where she quoted the Quran and spoke about her connection to the religion.
“I did Ramadan for three days with my friend from Kuwait, it was hard but it was good. It felt good,” she said on Swar Shoaib, hosted by Shoaib Rashid, a popular talk show host. “I also listen to the Quran on my phone, I have an App.” she added.
Lindsay Lohan said of Trump: “I want to try to get the word out to Donald Trump bring him over there [to the refugee camps in Turkey] have him see all the positive things they are doing over there and all America can do to help as well…”, reports thesun.co.uk
