On the second anniversary of the tragic death of Alan Kurdi, the three-year-old boy whose body was found washed up on a shore in Turkey after the boat that was carrying him and his family capsized, renowned winning novelist and UNHCR Goodwill ambassador Khaled Hosseini, wrote a fictional letter called Sea Prayer.

The night before a potentially fatal journey, a father reflects with his son on their life in Syria before the war – and on their unknown future.

In collaboration with UNCHR and The Guardian, the author of books like Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, came up with this film appropriately illustrated an animated feature in the 360 format giving a VR (Virtual Reality) version of the transformation of Syria.
