‘IT has no job security’; 25 year old techie leaves suicide note before jumping from 6th floor

With reports of most IT companies increasing the number of employee cut offs, a 25 year old software engineer from Pune committed suicide by jumping from the 6th floor of a hotel in Vimannagar area in the city. He left behind a suicide note which read ‘In IT there is no job security. I am worried a lot about my family.’

Gopikrishna Durgaprasad (25) hailing from Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh, had moved to Pune and started working only three days ago. He had previously worked in Delhi and Hyderabad.

"I do not know what happened,” said his relative Venkatrao Murthy. He is survived by parents and a sister.

Last month, Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy said that IT companies can protect the jobs of youngsters if senior executives take pay cuts.
