In a tragic accident, Ten people were killed and at least 23 injured as the state run bus rammed into a truck carrying steel rods on an overbridge in Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur district, on Friday.
The steel rods pierced some of the passengers, apart from 8 passengers, drivers of both the vehicles died on the spot. NDTV reported.
The Tamil Nadu State bus was trying to overtake the lorry when it lost t balance and rammed into it though police are yet to find the cause of the accident.
Travelling from Tiruppur to Kumbakonam, the state-run bus which was carrying some 60 passengers.
The families of the 10 deceased families have been promised 1 lakh each informed the office of Palanisamy. Rs 50000 will also be provided to those injured in the accident.
