An incident which highlights the negligence in the institutional structure puts the management of a social welfare residential school into trouble after 13 year old student met his tragic end while sleeping in his hostel room.
Pyda Rakesh, student of class 8 fell from a height of 17 feet sometime after 10:30pm on Friday but, fellow students noticed him lying dead on the ground around 5:30 am on Saturday at Telangana's social welfare residential school and college at Jaipur in newly formed Mancheryal district, reports Banglore Mirror.
All the rooms of the first floor have four double cots each and Rakesh was on the top deck of a bed adjacent to the window. Since the fan wasn’t working for several days, Rakesh pulled his cot closer to the window as it had rained in the region. The window had only a frame and a door, but no grills.
According to his friends, he was awake till 10.30 pm and he pulled his cot towards the window to kill the heat.

The police has registered a case of causing death by negligence (section 304A of Indian Penal Code) against school in-charge principal Maheshwar Rao and boys hostel warden, Pandit.
Students' organisations and dalit groups staged a protest in front of the school demanding the management be booked for the death of the inmate boy.
