The Himachal Pradesh govt in an attempt to inculcate proper discipline among the teaching staff have issued a dress code for all the teachers during the working hours.
The govt have ordered all the school managements to make sure all teachers come to workplace in proper dress code failing which will cause them to be subjected to notices issued in their names. “We have directed flying squads to carry out random checks in schools,” Director, Higher Education , BL Binta, reports Hindustan Times.
It was observed for quite some time that teachers appeared to their classes in casual dresses which left a bad impression on the students. Such a practice lead the govt to introduce uniforms for teachers, particularly in schools affiliated to Himachal Pradesh School Board of Education.
Making the education system proper, the govt had last year banned the use of mobile pones in the school premises and mobiles being found used by students will be confiscated.
The is reported after a junior engineer was berated by the HP high court for being dressed casually for a court hearing. The department of personnel had issued an order asking all officers to ensure that the employees are dressed ‘modestly’ during the office hours failing which they will have to face strict actions.
The orders had not gone down well with the lower rung officials of the Himachal Pradesh secretariat, and the employees union had demanded a dress code instead of a ban on casual dressing.
