Paresh Rawal, BJP MP who faced Twitter flak after his controversial tweet suggesting to tie author Arundhati Roy to military jeep as human shield got support from Subramanian Swamy. If Paresh Rawal thought that using Arundhati as human shield would stop protesters in Kashmir from hurling stones at army men, Subramanian Swamy did not think so. According to him stone pelters would love to hit a woman who is not loyal to her country.
When you tie leader of the pro Pakistan movement then the stone pelters will give you a safe passage because they don’t want to throw stones on their leaders and injure them. And if you put Arundhati they will not care. They think that if the woman is not loyal to her own country then how can she be loyal to us. They will therefore enjoy throwing stones at herSubramanian Swamy
He however said India is a modern democracy and his party is not interested in stone pelting at her.
Drawing reference from an incident in which a Kashmiri youth was tied to a army jeep, Paresh Rawal has tweeted that instead of youth Arundhati Roy is to be tied and used as human shield. This drew flak on twitter.
Responding to the tweet Congress leader Digvijay Singh wrote: Why not the man who stitched PDP-BJP alliance”
Arundhati Roy, in series of articles have questioned India’s approach towards Kashmir.
