Just two days following the kidnapping and molestation attempt experienced by a popular Mollywood actress, another cine actress from South film industry, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has come up with her disrespectful incident from the head of a popular TV channel.
The actress took to Twitter to write about her experience, she talked about the abuses women face outside the industry, in other economic spheres.
I was in a meeting with the programming head of a leading TV channel. Towards the end of the half hour meeting, he asked me, 'So when can we meet outside?' To which I replied, 'Regarding some other work?' He said, 'No... for other things'. I hide my shock and anger and tell him, 'Sorry, please leave'. His last words were 'So, that's all?” read the actress’ detailed Twitter post.
According to the actress, who is popular in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam film industry, she says she loves acting and it was her profession by choice.
She strongly advocates not to lecture women on what to wear, how to speak and how to behave appropriately, “how about we start telling men not to think with their genitals and start looking at a woman as a strong, free, capable and equal human being. Teach men to be better people. Every parent needs to start this at home.”
Following her post on Twitter, the actress received applauds from all people.
Two days ago, a popular was allegedly abducted and molested on Friday night in the Ernakulam district of Kerala.
Her former driver Martin, who worked with the actress for a day, has been arrested and another driver Sunil, who, according to police, is the main accused, is absconding.
The incident, reportedly, took place while the actress was returning from a shoot, when Sunil and Martin forcefully entered the car and tried to take her pictures.
