Malayalam actor Mohanlal on Monday through his Facebook to announce the envious project the Indian film industry has to see in a couple of years. Titled "Mahabharatham", the movie is the adaptation of "Randamoozham', a Malayalam novel written MT Vasudevan Nair. The movie is made on a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crore and will be produced by BR Shetty.
The movie will be shot in two parts. The shooting of the first part will be begin on September next year. The first part will hit theatres in 2020 and a the second part will be released three months after.
Mohanlal said that he is indeed blessed and lucky to have play the lead role of 'Bheema' in the movie.
I have grown up hearing the story from Mahabharata. The novel too has influenced me and has read many times which I have no count of. It is a blessing that I have been chosen to play the lead role of Bheema in the movie adaptation and is thanking writer MT Vasudevan Nair for it.Mohanlal
The actor also thanked BR Shetty, producer of the movie, to take such an initiative to make a film of global standards.
Speaking about the project, MT said that Randamoozham is being made into a movie after a research of 20 years. Though many people approached me for making it into a movie, it did not happen because it is a vast subject and needed such a huge canvas.
Along with prominent names from Malayalam film industry, actors from Bollywood would also feature in it. The VFX, Stunt, and Choreography will stun the Indian spectators, claim the producer. Noted adman VR Sreekumar Menon is the director of the movie.
