Popular Malayalam actor who had been behind bars for charges of being allegedly involved in the abduction of a poplar co-star has been granted bail on his fifth attempt after the court rejected his previous four bail pleas.
Headed by Justice Sunil Thomas, the bench hearing the case granted bail after 85 days of imprisonment.
While granting bail the court has ordered to surrender his passport and issue a bond worth rupees one lakh, apart from being in a position to summon when called for investigating procedure.
Dileep, the 11th accused in the case was arrested on July 10 in the popular actor abduction and alleged molestation case.
Amid widespread controvesry and support to the actress who was abducted, Dileep’s movie ‘Ramaleela’ hit the theatres and is collecting hard at the box offices.
While granting bail the court hs given strict order to not tamper with the evidence or talk to anyone accused n the case though Pulsar Sunil still remains in custody.
The alleged molestation and abduction took place on February 17, when the actress was traveling to Kochi from her house in Thrissur.
According to reports, a gang of men followed the actor and hit her car somewhere near Nedumbassery. The people then got off their vehicle and got inside the actor’s car, assaulting her for the next three hours. They are said to have taken videos and pictures of the actor, the mobile phone which has not been recovered yet.
Investigating officers claim that Dileep was in possession of the explicit content.
