The much anticipated Tamil movie Visaaranai has failed to make in to the final list of the 2017 Oscar race for Best Foreign Language Film, said the director Vetri Maaran through a tweet on Friday.
The film tells about the grisly tale of custodial violence and corruption in the policing system was chose India's official entry to the Oscars in this September. The film was a hit in the box office and critics praised for its genuine story telling. The film has won three National Award.
The directed posted a list of films that made into the final list of Oscars in his tweet.
The film of Oscar winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's The Salesman and Norwegian filmmaker Erik Poppe's The King's Choice were on the final list.
