On Women’s Day, Shiv Sainiks run amok at Kochi Marine Drive imposing ‘moral code’

In yet another incident of moral policing, Shiv Sena activists in Kerala caned couples sitting at Marine Drive in Kochi in the evening of Women's Day. The Sena supporters targeted youngsters with canes as Kerala police standing mute spectators to the shocking episode.

Some youths claimed that they were beaten by the gang, while many said to have been abused and threatened.

Shiv Sena's Kochi unit carried out the attack as part of their Women's Day celebrations.

The group reportedly indulged in the moral policing carrying a banner reads “ stop atrocities against women”.

They also claimed that they decided to scare away couples, as youths 'used to indulge in immoral activities in the park'.

Six Shiv Sena activists have been taken into custody in connection to the case.

Meanwhile, cops were widely criticised for standing as mere spectators while the group carried out the nasty moral policing episode publicly.
