Kerala PCC chief V M Sudheeran resigns citing health reasons

V M Sudheeran, K P C C President announced his resignation citing health reasons. In a press conference Sudheeran cited his poor health condition for his dramatic announcement.

Sudheeran who has been waging a lonely battle against two powerful groups with in the party, derived his strength from the support he got from the national leadership of the party. He has been in the post for the last three years

Congress high command appointed Sudheeran as the PCC president against the wishes of the two powerful leaders of the party - former chief minister Oomen Chandy and former KPCC president Remesh Chennithala. Sudheeran has been at loggerheads with these two powerful leaders. During the last assembly election his firm stand against giving party tickets to the tainted leaders created lot of controversy within the party. Sudheeran a confident of A K Antony tried to revamp the party and this also has not gone well with Oomen Chandy and Remesh Chennithala.
