A woman hailing from Kochi, Kerala has bitten off a part of a neighbour’s tongue while he tried to molest her on Monday night, the complaint filed with the police read.
The woman filed formal complaint against the 30 year old neighbour who tried to forcefully kiss the woman. Along with the complaint the woman also produced a 2 cm strip of the tongue at the police station, reports Hindustan Times.
As per the complaint the man has been booked under section 447 (criminal trespass), 354 (assault with the intention to outrage modesty of a woman) and 367 (attempt to rape) of the Indian Penal Code. The man was earlier charged with similar complaints from other women and was under judicial custody for a week.
The woman claim she was attacked after she stepped out of her house on Monday night and after she attacked him, he ran away from the scene. After her formal complaint, the police alerted all hospitals and got to know the information of a man who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
At the hospital, the man claimed he injured his tongue during a bike accident. But the police nabbed him after the surgery was over and he was discharged from the hospital. Doctors added that since he had badly injured his tongue his speech would be slightly impaired.
This is the second time a case of sexual assault has been reported from Kerala. Earlier in June, a 23 year old girl had cut the genitals off a 52 year old godman who had allegedly raped her. Later she reverted her statements saying he was forced to make false allegations against the godman and that he was innocent who never hurt her.
