A Communally sensitive audio clip alleged to be belonging to the terror group ISIS has been making rounds on WhatsApp threatening to risk the celebrations at Thrissur during Kumbha Mela.
The state police officials and intelligence officers have informed national agencies, NIA to trace the origin of the audio clips that claim to be fighting under the banner of ISIS.
Authorities believe the audio was shared via messaging platform WhatsApp to divide people communally targeting religion, reports Deccan Chronicle.
The latest audio spreading, claiming to the 50th among the series urges for more people to join the terror group and has asked for financial help apart from threatening to attack during religious events where crowds of people gather, citing to threaten Kumbh Mela at Thrissur. The audio clip also criticised other religious beliefs.
After preliminary investigation of the audio clip police believe the audio has been originated from somewhere in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sources allege the voice in the latest series of the audio belong to Abdul Rashid Abdullah native of Kasargod who reportedly joined ISIS lately.
Investigating officers also add that the latest audio clip that has been circulating on WhatsApp has been created in the near past as the clip has reference to the Las Vegas shooting massacre.
Since the latest audio clip is being spread in the file format its circulation cannot be stopped due to end to end encryption on WhatsApp and Telegram.
