My mother wants me to get married soon, says world’s fastest man Usain Bolt. The nine time Olympic gold medalist who is dating Kasi Bennett said that he is not in hurry to tie wedlock though.
“I was like, give me sometime,” he said.
During an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, Bolt said he “might be thinking” about marriage, but she has never told him.
“I think she might be thinking of it, you never know, but she’s not saying it. So, that’s good,” Bolt said.
The episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, featuring Bolt, will be aired on Wednesday in India on Romedy NOW.
This not the first time Bolt’s mother appears on news, while talks about his wedding are on. During the Rio Olympics, Bolt’s mother Jennifer Bolt told CNN’s Don Riddell that she hoped he may settle down soon.
“I would hope he’ll settle down, get married and start his family,” she said while talking about his future once he stopped competing.
“I know he’ll settle down because he has said it,” she added ahead of Bolt running in the 100 meters at Rio’s Olympic Stadium.
“He told me many times that he’s going to start his family,” Jennifer said. In the interview she had also expressed her happiness of being mother of the world’s fastest athlete with “ triple triple” gold in olympics alone.
“It’s really, you know, a pleasure knowing that we have the fastest man as our son because we get to go out, we do lots of interviews, get to go places. It’s really a pleasure. It’s happy and feeling good,” she said.
Earlier, she was also on the news after her expression gone viral on micro blogging site when Bolt won the Men’s 200 m sprint in Rio Olympics. When the crowd erupted with cheers after he touched the finishing line, she was noticed for sitting cool, unmoved by his achievement.
While a few on Twitter interpreted it as she was unhappy with him for not settling down, many opined she may be phased by his repetitive wins.
