Mohit Ahlawat’s “carnage” the other day has brought this 21-year-old batsman to a sudden attention among the cricket loving fraternity. Mohit smashed a triple ton in a T20 match; a fete no other batsmen in the world could have even dreamed off until a day ago. He slammed 300 not out while playing for Maavi XI against Friend’s XI in the Friends Premier League at the Lalita Park in New Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area.
The daredevil batsman has now got call from IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils to attend their trials. A Farmer’s son, Mohit has to struggle hard to climb up the ladder. He has smashed 39 sixes and 14 boundaries in his triple ton.
His coach, Sanjay Bhardwaj is all happy for the kid as he struggled more than any other of his studious students to make an envious record. Sanjay has coached former India opener Gautam Gambhir and former U-19 skipper Unmukt Chand.
He hasn’t had anything easy in life. He is a farmer’s son and has had to struggle hard to follow his dream of playing cricket. I am very happy that the Daredevils took note of his knock and called him for trial.Sanjay Bhardwaj, Coach, as told to CricketNext.
Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua confirmed the news. Though he had smashed a triple ton in T20, Mohit’s aim is to play for India seniors one day. He hoped that the sensational innings would pave way for that.
