Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been hailed as a great when he stepped down from captaincy in the limited overs and hand it over to Test skipper Virat Kohli hardly a month ago. It was to many a wise decision taken by Dhoni as he is on a transitional phase and has already amassed he could in a shining career. Dhoni has given all he could to the Indian side.
He, however, has to face a moment of disgrace when the Rising Pune Supergiant removed from its captaincy the other day. The decision of the management, whatever reason they had to it for, has ridiculed Dhoni.
Former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin has blasted IPL franchise Rising Pune Supergiants and its owner Sanjiv Goenka for the way they removed MS Dhoni from the role of captaincy for the upcoming season. The former Indian skipper believes that the issue could have been dealt with in a more graceful manner. This would be the first IPL that Dhoni is not leading a team since its inception nine years ago.
The latest news is that Dhoni is far from done when it comes to captaincy though, as he will be leading his state team Jharkhand for the first time ever in Vijay Hazare Trophy, starting on February 25th. Dhoni will lead a talented team with faces like Saurabh Tiwary, Varun Aaron & Ishank Jaggi who fetched IPL contracts at the Auction on Monday.
