Sweet revenge for the 2016 Rio Olympics final: PV Sindhu beats Carolina Marin to win India Open title

In a sweet revenge for the 2016 Rio Olympics final, India's star badminton player PV Sindhu beat former world number one Carolina Marin to win the India Open 2017.

Sindhu defeated the Rio champion 21-19 21-16 to claim her first India Open.

Through this win in front of her home crow, Sindhu also improved her head-to-head record with the opponent to 5-4.

It was an easy won for the Indian player as she dominated throughout the match. She let Marin to lead the match only once.

The final match was held at DDA Siri Fort Sport Complex in New Delhi.

She entered final after beating Saina Nehwal and Sung ji-Hyun.

Sindhu had won China Open title in 2016.
