Help save a child: Father donates liver to his newborn, but the child needs your help badly

Hamdan, who could not be diagnosed for the disease that turned his urine to coffee brown days after his birth by a local doctor was shifted to a hospital at Cochin in Kerala to be diagnosed with Biliary Atresia with Neonatal Jaundice that has damaged his liver.

Hamdan suddenly turned completely blue due to the lack of oxygen in the body. The baby remains inactive, looks drained out and doesn’t want to wake up from his dormant state.

Born to young parents in October 2016, Ashraf, pursuing his PhD in Hyderabad and Sumaira, who had to drop her post graduation degree due to pregnancy, Hamid is undergoing a critical medical condition which can be cured only by a sudden liver transplant surgery.

Ashraf volunteering to donate for his newborn, is just steps away from gaining his baby back to a normal healthy life.

The only hurdle delaying the surgery is the financial crisis that the small family, living on the expense of the fellowship stipend of Ashraf, needs to overcome. The estimated cost for the liver transplant is Rs. 20 lakh though the family has already spend Rs. 5 Lakhs on Hamdan’s treatment.

Apart from the parents striving hard to meet the needed money to meet the surgical expenses, people from the local community in Kannur and Kozhikode are crowdfunding to help the needing family. Wailing Ashraf and his family has extended their hands for any help for their child through an online campaign.

Persons willing to help can donate money for the surgery through the online website.

Anyone willing to help can donate directly to the parents
