Paying a tribute to music composer, AR Rahman, music band, hailing from the southern state of Kerala titled themselves as ‘Pacha’, hits the floor with an acapella tribute to the music director.
The acapella has songs composed by AR Rahman in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
Pacha founded by a group of 7 friends, passionate about singing released their first video song on 30 January, 2017, with over 20k viewers since then on Facebook.
The video song features Sreeraj Sahajan, Lakshmi Ennappaadam, Rhithwik Chand, and Rahul Raj on the vocals.
Talking to SouthLive, Sreeraj Sahajan, who was the music director of the Mollywood children’s movie, ‘Kolumittayi’ released in 2016 says Rhithwik Chand suggested the name ‘Pacha (green)’for the group which signifies life, renewal, nature and energy. According to the traditional Keralite culture, green depicts purity and the natural greenery for which the state is famous.

With the compilation of old hit songs of AR Rahman in the video, Rahman fans feels a sense of nostalgia waking.
The Malayalam song is from 1992 movie, ‘Yodha’, the Hindi one from 1995 flick, ‘Bombay’ (remixed in OK Jaanu) and the Tamil one from the 2000 film, ‘Kandukondain Kandukondain’. All three songs were composed and tuned by AR Rahman.
