Granny went for a 10 minute drive, loses way and drove 480 kilometres

An 83-year-old grandma took her car to drive to her hospital. She, however, missed the target and keep driving her car until its fuel ran out. By the time she had almost drove for eight hours straight and covered 480 km.

The incident took place in England the other day. Valerie Johnson was driving to her local hospital when she encountered roadworks. They diverted her and she ended up driving for 8 hours until her fuel ran out up in Scotland.

Luckily for Johnson a couple looked after her up in Scotland. By that stage Karen Maskell, her daughter was growing concerned and had called the police. She ended up having to catch a flight up to Scotland to collect her mother.

Johnson reportedly hates to drive and when she got stuck on the motorway she just kept going all along the way to Scotland.

Her daughter was informed about delay of her mother returning home by the neighbour. Police was informed about the incident and the search for her at the hospital did not yield any result. With growing concern, the police have tracked her car in traffic cameras. From it found that she has taken the wrong route and travelled to Scotland unknowingly.

She is now home safe and sound in her own neck of the woods.
